As I’ve been visiting with family and friends the past few days about our upcoming trip I realize that my emotions are starting to rev up. We’ve been busy preparing for this trip and I haven’t had a lot of time to address the emotional part of this trip.
My hope is that this trip will not only honor the sacrifices my father made 75 years ago but also those who sacrificed so much more. Oh what a different world we would live in if it had not been for the success of these brave men.
Our father never talked about the war until the 50th Anniversary came around and then it was still hard to get him to talk. He and many others came home from the war and got on with their life without expecting anything in return.
And so this trip is to honor The Greatest Generation!
